How to Put That Extra Candy to Good Use

Too much Halloween candy in your house? Two GREAT candy buy-back programs will be happening this week!

On November 4, the Lansdale Branch of the North Penn YMCA will be hosting a Family Dental Health & Candy for Our Troops Day. In addition to providing dental health information, free products and fun activities for kids, the Y will be giving a 50-cent piece for every pound of Halloween candy that is brought that evening. The candy will be shipped to service men and women overseas, along with greeting cards that can be made at the event. This is a great idea for all the 'extra' candy left after Halloween and a great incentive for children to share what they have with someone else!

Can't make it on November 4th? Then, bring your unwanted Halloween candy to the North Wales Area Library between November 1st and November 14th. For every pound of candy turned in, Dr. Klein (of the North Wales dental practice, Hershman, Present & Klein, D.M.D., P.C.) and his wife will donate $10.00 to the library! Children can take pride knowing their candy has been converted into real money which goes to help our new library. Additionally, healthy alternatives like art and school supplies, pencils and stickers will be exchanged for those Trick-or-Treat treasures!
