Great Events to Choo-Choo-Choose From This Weekend!

There are two on-going train displays wrapping up this weekend, both are just a short drive away. Don't miss your last chance to see the Logan Model Railroad Club Open House in Souderton and the Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club's Open House in Phoenixville. If you have little boys in your house, these are can't-miss events!

The Logan Southern Railroad, located in Souderton, is a fictional railroad (HO scale) that runs from the town of Logan, in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania, south and east across the Allegheny Mountains to Harrisburg. The club is open to the public for 5 weekends a year, generally in November, December, and January.

The Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club has held their annual open house since 1975. Freight and passenger car trains rumble over 700 feet of track, over high trestle bridges, through towns, around mountains and through tunnels along the right of way from Reading to Philadelphia.  Hundreds of buildings, vehicles, people and trees create realistic scenes on the 1,000+ sq ft model. Numerous buttons allow visitors to bring scenes to life! See Thomas the Tank Engine and try your observation skills on our new Scavenger Hunt. While you're there, you can enter to win a train set of your own!

Admission to both open houses is free! Donations are gratefully accepted and funds collected enable members to improve wiring, scenery, trains, and supplies.

Schuylkill Valley Railroad will be open 1:00-5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Logan Southern will be open from 12:00 to 4:00pm each day.

And if this weekend's shows aren't enough for your aspiring engineer, the Lansdale Public Library will be hosting the North Penn S-Gaugers next weekend!
