Hot Summer Reading Incentives!

Summer Reading Sun and bookLooking for ways to motivate a reluctant reader (or pre-reading listener) to hit the books this summer? Several local libraries and stores are on your side!

Is there anything wrong with a little bribery once in a while when its for your child's own good? We didn't think so either!

Enjoy!

Lansdale Library: Summer Reading Program offers prizes for books read between June 20th and August 20th. Register on-line!
North Wales LibraryEach Wednesday from June 29th through August 31st will be a special event day at the library. Visit the library to earn special reading awards each week.
Indian Valley Public Library: Compete against the librarians - who will read more, the kids who visit the library or the adults who work there? Kids can complete activity sheets to collect stickers for their "passports".
Borders: Read 10 books, get one free!
Barnes & Noble: Read 8 books, get one free!
TD Bank: Read 10 books, earn $10! (Must have or open an account.)
HEB: Read 10 books, get a free t-shirt. (Don't want a free t-shirt? Donate it!)

Also, don't forget that some school libraries in the North Penn district will be open this summer, as well. Make a special trip to a new library you've never been to before!

Happy Summer Reading to all!

  1. We do our own summer reading incentive - I've bought a couple of books that I know the kids want, and after they've read a pre-determined number of pages, they earn the new book :)
