In my own six years as a stay-at-home turned work-at-home mother, I have yet to see a presentation more directly and thoroughly tackle that looming "How do I re-enter the job force?" question. This is sure to be a meeting not to miss! Many thanks to the North Wales MOMS Club (and MOMS Clubs everywhere!) for all that they offer to women and families! Without further ado...
Attention stay-at-home moms! The MOMS Club of North Wales is hosting career counselor Margie Cherry at their April meeting. She will give a short talk about how to prepare your resume when you have taken time out of the paid workforce.
How do you address the [two/five/nine] year gap in your "official" work experience? How can you make yourself an attractive candidate for a job when "mom" has been your primary occupation for years? Whether you are already working part-time or don't plan to go back to work for a few more years, her insights will be so helpful, and she'll have some important tips to offer. Joining her will be Nancy Mellon, Director of Career Development at Montgomery County Community College who can answer any questions you have about the process of transitioning back into the workforce.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 18 at 10:00am at the North Wales Area Library (233 S. Swartley St.).
MOMS Club (MOMS Offering Moms Support) is an international nonprofit organization specifically for at-home mothers everywhere! The North Wales chapter offers various weekday activities and meetings for stay-at-home or part-time-working mothers and their children. Playgroups, outings, special events, mom’s night out, and more!
Our chapter welcomes residents of:
· North Wales
· Upper Gwynedd
· Montgomery Township*

Lansdale Library Events for April are Posted!
The Lansdale Public Library has a slew of great events coming up next month and they are all posted on our calendar. A few notes to bring to your attention:
- The library will be closed on Friday, April 22nd in observance of Good Friday.
- Miss Lisa's story time will now occur at a new time for Fridays only: 11:30am. Thursdays will still be at 10:30am.
- The instantly-popular new Infant Story Time will now occur every week!
- The movie "Tangled" (PG) will be shown on Friday April 15th. Two other movies will be shown this month ("The Tourist" and "Country Strong"), however, they are PG-13 and, in the interest of keeping our focus on kids under ten, they are not listed on our calendar.
- Finally, the theme for the Little Builders Club this month will be Trains. That is sure to be a hit! If you haven't checked it out yet, it is a lot of fun!

"Parenting With Love and Logic" Seminar
The Methacton Advocacy and Education Network (MAEN) will be hosting a FREE seminar entitled "Parenting with Love and Logic" next Thursday, March 24th in Eagleville for both parents and educators. I have heard great things about this philosophy of parenting...how awesome to see a presentation on it just a short drive away...and for FREE! Here is what MAEN has to say about it:
Would you like to raise more responsible, respectful children? Would you like to learn how to set and enforce limits on your child’s behavior in a loving way without raising your voice and losing your patience? Do you wish your child would be more helpful around the house? Is homework a constant struggle in your home? Then come join us for an evening of "Parenting with Love and Logic.” The evening will cover Love and Logic philosophy, providing strategies and techniques that can be used immediately. Time will also be provided for questions.
The speaker will be Barb Bogle, a Parent Coach and Educational Consultant. Ms. Bogle is a Certified School Counselor, Classroom teacher, and Reading Specialist. She has experience in the E.S.L. (English Second Language) field, both as a teacher and as an administrator. She is also a trained facilitator for conducting Love and Logic parenting classes. She has taught in schools both domestically and overseas and has been a Counselor in a local public school for the past twenty years. During that time she has helped hundreds of parents to be more effective and children to be more responsible. She knows children and understands the educational demands placed on them. Barb has experienced the joys and challenges of parenting. She is married and has three grown children. More information about Love and Logic can be found here: www.loveandlogic.com.
PLEASE RSVP (methactonaen2003@yahoo.com) if you are planning to attend!! Thank you!
